Upcoming stuff in Madison
These are only some of the groups/events taking place in Madison. There are more, but these are the ones that I have exact location and contact information for. If you have contact information and/or exact location information on any of the other events happening in Madison please respond to this post with that info.
Madison First Friday a monthly public (vanilla) social occuring on the First Friday of every month. This is a great opportunity to see old friends and meet new. This takes place at Bourbon Street Grill in Monona from 7pm until late on the first friday of every month. For newcomers to the community, First Friday is highly recommend as a great way to meet others and get a sense of the scene. 18+
Satyricon meets on the second Saturday of the month and has an educational mission. At 2:00 is a social and new-member meet-and-greet at Ground Zero coffee house on Williamson Street. At 3:30 the group reconvenes in a different location for educational discussions, presentations, demonstrations and the like. First time attendees need to attend the 2:00 meeting. Website: http://satyriconmadison.org
Sabbat de Sade is a monthly fetish themed club night on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Each month sports a different theme and has become an exciting night out for the kink community. This event is at The Inferno. Website: http://www.sabbatdesade.com
Leather and Lace is a monthly fetish themed club night on the 1st Saturday of each month at the Inferno. L&L tends to be a little more dance and club themed than Sabbat de Sade. Website: http://www.clubinferno.com
The Madison Area Whippersnappers is a pansexual kinky munch for people 18 to 35 years old. This group meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Noodle's and Company on State Street. 18-35
The "Hot" Lunch Munch meets at 11am on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at the HuHot Mongolian Grill in west Madison. The Munch is a simple social affair and fun way to kick off the weekend. The HuHot Grill is an excellent all-you-can-eat Mongolian BBQ (build your own stir-fry) and lunch runs about $10-$12. While the restaurant is for all ages, 18+ is the recommended age since discussions can get a little adult at times.
Kinky Craft Night is a biweekly gathering of kinky crafters. A "Stitch-n-Bitch" for kinksters of all stripes, this event offers an opportunity to work on fetish wear, leather work, kinky knitting, and other pervertable crafts in an open, accepting, and above all FUN environment. Meet new people; share tools, experience, conversation, and laughter. This even is at Club 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm every other Wed. 21+
The Madtown Kinkfest is a regular 3-day hotel event that features three days of classes and two nights of parties, loads of vendor space, and that warm Wisconsin welcome. Some of the most well known BDSM and Alternative Lifestyle Presenters in the country are invited to teach and present. Website: http://www.madtownkinkfest.com

Up coming Auditions
Current Mood: geeky
Following in the footsteps of John Sables rousing 2008 play Multiple O, Multiple O: The Second Coming is a hilarious look at ethical non-monogamy, kinky behavior and love. Like the original, the play promises to be a risqué, adults-only production. It is the story of Dina and Darren who has read every book, visited every how-to website, and now feel ready to host their first swinger's party. Seemingly prepared for anything, the excited couple can't wait to throw the party of the year. Unfortunately a miss-click of a mouse button sends an invite to everyone on their mailing list, including their church group, the PTA and Dina's swing-dancing mother.
Roles are available for 8 actors (4F, 4M), No prepared audition material is required or expected. Auditions will be Wednesday January 20, at 6:30pm, Saturday, January 23 at 1pm, and Wednesday January 27, at 6:30pm. The ideal cast will be comprised of actors willing to tackle adult subject matter, challenge themselves and work their craft in a safe, creative environment.
For additional information about the show, the audition process or anything related to Multiple O: The Second Coming, contact John Sable directly at 608-577-2253 or e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Not the acting type? There’s also plenty of room for technical and help backstage, or, you could always just come see it at…

So there are a lot of groups and events that are 19 and up or 21 and up and the reason that they give for this is that they don't want high school seniors that are 18 to join their group because they are concerned the high school will get involved and there will be some kind of issue or legal action. Now, we all know (or at least I know) that the legal age of consent in every single state in the United States is 18 and there aren't really any legal repercussions for an adult only group that has an 18 year old (adult) member who happens to be still in high school.
My question is this: Does anyone know of an actual group or event that has had a legal issue (not just annoyance issue) with having an 18 year old high school student in attendance? This doesn't include events that are held in establishments that are 21 and over, such as bars or clubs. Specific details along with group names, places, or times would be helpful for verification. Hellraiser Night @ Sabbat de Sade
March 15, is Hellraiser night at Sabbat de Sade.
We'll be doing suspensions & pullings. I'll be charging less than I normally do for them, to make it more affordable and encourage a few who may be timid.
Suspensions $60 (normally $90) Pullings $40 (normally $60) Contact Karcus if interested.
For those who aren't interested in flesh-hooks, or are squicked by them; rest assured, this will not be the only thing going on. There will still be plenty of people flogging, doing rope, caning, whatever else trips your trigger.
This is the 2 Year Anniversary! Don't miss it.
You don't have to participate to attend, although its encouraged and supported. I set the stage, you do what you want.
Not sure how to dress: Don't worry. Dress in whatever fetish gear makes you hot! If you need some direction, think Cenobites. Cenobites were charged with retrieving anyone who solved the Lament Configuration, which if solved opens a gateway between our world and Hell, highly sought after by the greatest of hedonists for its promise of unparalleled pleasures. The Cenobites were then directly responsible for the pleasure/pain torture of said individual.
Remember, Clive Barker stated that his inspiration for the Cenobites was visits to S&M and fetish clubs in New York and Amsterdam.
Let's make him proud! Current Mood: creative

Stuff to do in Feb
Here's the madison schedule for feb! Feel free to post info for events I miss, or any events in other cities please!
February may be a short month, but it is certainly packed with kink events.
Feb. 6: First Friday - There was some confusion as to where First Friday will be held. It is still at The Bar Next Door, so come out and meet others in the Madison scene.
6-8: Madison GRUE - Graydancer brings the GRUE back to it's beginnings with it's return to Madison. I was lucky enough to participate in the first GRUE and it was certainly an experience worth repeating. Registration is at graydancer.com
7 - Madison Area Whippersnappers Munch - Open to everyone 18-35 years old. 6:00 pm at the State St Noodles and Co.
6 - Leather and Lace at The Inferno
13-15: Madtown Kink Fest - If you want to learn about flogging, breath play, erotic grappling, electric play or a host of other topics, plan to attend the Madtown Kink Fest. The list of presenters include Travis Wilson. In April of 2004, Travis was the keynote speaker at the Leather Leadership Conference 8. In 2008, he was the Keynote speaker for Black Rose. He will also be the keynote speaker at the 2009 Beyond Vanilla event in Dallas. And in February he will be in our very own back yard.
14: Satyricon - Satyricon's meeting this month we will be watching "Quills." Those who are not already members should meet up with us at the UW Memorial Union Rathskeller at 2 pm. Look for the blue and black balloons! More info at the website satyriconmadison.org
15: Sabbat de Sade - This is Sabbat's Newbie Night and falls right after Madtown Kink Fest. I know a lot of the participants and presenters from the Kink Fest will be heading over to Sabbat to continue the fun and learning. As the Sabbat website & Myspace page says, "Here's your chance to join our fraternity/ sorority, Sigma Delta Sade and graduate Magna Cum Laude." More info at sabbatdesade.com
23- Madison Area Whippersnappers - Educational demo or discussion. 6:30 pm at the Wil Mar Center on Jenifer St. Open to everyone 18-35 years old.

Sigma Delta Sade - Fetish College Hazing
Ever feel like you missed out on the full college experience: the humiliation of the walk of shame when a senior took advantage of you as a young freshman, waking up next to someone and couldn't figure out why your ass hurt, or just the great humiliation of being blind folded and forced to do ungodly things you wouldn't want your mother or father to know.
For the rest of us we wish we could've been that guy/girl leaving you feeling ashamed and used, blind fold you and make you do terrible things that you probably won't tell your significant other.
This night was created for that glorious experience we may have missed out on during our formative years. I suppose if you did go through the hazing and absolutely loved it, you can come too.
Here's your chance to join our fraternity/ sorority, Sigma Delta Sade and graduate Magna Cum Laude.

I'll make it up to you
My attempt to make it up to everyone for rescheduling the night last minute.
Next Sunday, Dec 28th, cover will be $6 for anyone in a mask, and $8 otherwise. Get the word out.
Sabbat de Sade (post-poned)
I had to make a hard decision yesterday after looking at the weather forecast for today/tonight. As you all know, this is a huge passion of mine and I don't cancel for much of anything.
But, looking at the forecast and seeing it was suppose to be possibly terrible tomorrow night (mostly the time you'd be driving home), I didn't want anything bad to happen to anyone. I'd feel awful if any one of my most devoted kinksters was hurt after a fun night.
I apologize with the deepest sincerity for anyone who's disappointed and I promise to make it up to you all.
Sorry for the multiple cross posting all over the net.

Why are leather kilts more expensive than leather pants? They use less material, after all. Do they really take $200-300 more worth of labor to produce, or is it simply a matter of economy of scale, and if more people bought them, the price would go down?Edit
: OK, I will defer to the experts who say it does in fact take more material, and a lot more labor. Still, the discrepancy shouldn't be that severe in an "ideal" situation where both were manufactured in the same numbers with the same degree of mechanization and overhead. I wonder if there's any way to estimate what the cost would be if that were the case? Any Economists here?

Satyricon: Lee Harrington
Don't forget that Lee Harrington (www.passionandsoul.com) is going to be teaching Leather tomorrow at 3:30pm for Satyricon. The meetings are free for Satyricon members and you can become a member before the meeting by going to the munch at the Rathskellar in the Memorial Union between 2:00 and 3:00. Look for the blue and black balloons. We look forward to seeing you there, if you have any questions please comment. Current Mood: excited

Sabbat de Sade
Sabbat de Sade's newbie event "Scouts Honor" was tonight. I was only able to attend for the first 2 hours, but we had a wonderful time. The inferno was packed with all kinds of new faces, plus many cherished friends.

Given the holiday, I was wondering if anyone was planning on showing up to First Friday tomorrow.
